Al-Jouf Agricultural Development Company announced on Tuesday the signing of a strategic agreement with the National Electricity Transmission Company, a subsidiary of the Saudi Electricity Company, for the construction of an electricity transmission station.
The project, which will provide an electrical capacity of 168 MVA to the company’s site in Al-Busitaa (Al-Jouf region), aligns with the Liquid Fuel Substitution Program objectives.
The agreement is valid until 31 December 2026 or until project completion, whichever comes first. According to the company, the initiative will help:
Reduce emissions from using liquid fuels for electricity generation.
Increase network reliability and reduce dependency on diesel generators.
Facilitate transition to grid-based electricity.
The company noted there is no significant financial impact expected from the project implementation.
