Trump: We Will Strip Harvard University of Tax Credit

US President Donald Trump said today that he will strip Harvard University of its tax credits.

The Trump administration has escalated its actions against Harvard in recent weeks, launching a formal review of approximately $9 billion in federal funding for the university.

The administration has also demanded more details about its foreign relations and threatened to revoke its tax exempt status and its ability to enroll international students.

Harvard University rejected many of Trump’s demands earlier in April, calling them an attack on free speech and academic freedom. It also filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration after it suspended approximately $2.3 billion in federal funding to the educational institution.

The Trump administration has also threatened other educational institutions with cuts to federal funding over issues such as pro-Palestinian protests, climate initiatives, and more.
