Trump imposes tariffs on foreign-produced films

Last Sunday, US President Donald Trump imposed new tariffs on all films produced outside the United States, claiming that Hollywood has been “ruined” by American studios and filmmakers moving overseas.

“I am authorizing the Department of Commerce and the United States Trade Representative to immediately begin the process of imposing a 100% tariff on all films that enter our country after being produced abroad,” Trump said in a post on his Truth Social platform.
