Oil prices rose on Thursday, the first day of May, after recording highest monthly loss since 2021.
Brent crude futures rose 16 cents, or 0.3%, to $61.22 a barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures rose 6 cents, or 0.1%, to $58.27.
Both crudes closed at their lowest levels in nearly four years on Wednesday.
