Trump: I’ll sign executive order to extend TikTok’s operations for 75 days

US President Donald Trump said he will sign an executive order to extend TikTok’s operations for an additional 75 days, stressing, “We’ve made tremendous progress on the TikTok deal.”

Trump emphasized, “I understand that China is not happy about the tariffs,” adding, “I look forward to working with China and TikTok to reach a deal.”

He added, “We don’t want to shut down TikTok.”

The popular video-sharing app TikTok faces a possible ban in the United States if its Chinese parent company, ByteDance, does not agree to a deal by April 5.

In January, the app was shut down for less than a day before Trump signed an executive order delaying implementation of a law requiring ByteDance to sell TikTok’s US operations or face being banned in the country, citing national security concerns about the platform’s ties to China.
