The Kingdom, Egypt discuss facilitating trade

Engineer Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, Minister of Transport and Logistics, discussed with Lieutenant General Kamel Al-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport of Egypt, opportunities to develop partnerships in various transportation activities, exchange expertise in infrastructure, connect ports, and facilitate trade. These opportunities will achieve sustainable development goals and enhance the efficiency of supply chains in the two brotherly countries. They will also explore institutional and technical integration and the development of joint initiatives that contribute to raising the level of competitiveness in the transportation sector regionally and internationally.

The Egyptian Minister’s visit included a series of meetings, including a meeting with officials at NEOM, during which future projects were reviewed and opportunities for cooperation in the fields of maritime transport and modern technologies were discussed.

He also held a meeting with officials from the Red Sea International Company, during which prospects for partnership in developing tourist ports and enhancing the efficiency of logistics services in the Red Sea were discussed, in support of the economic and development goals of both countries. Accompanied by Dr. Rumaih bin Mohammed Al-Rumaih, Deputy Minister of Transport and Logistics Services and Acting Chairman of the General Transport Authority, the Egyptian Minister toured Jeddah Islamic Port, including the port’s facilities, the passenger terminal, the command and control center, and the Red Sea Gateway Terminal. They were briefed on its operation and the advanced technologies used to enhance the logistics services system. The delegation also visited the “Aroya Cruises Saudi Arabia,” the first national cruise ship. The delegation was briefed on the ship’s advanced facilities and equipment, as well as its role in promoting cruise tourism and providing unique experiences that reflect Saudi identity.
