The Saudi Red Sea Authority granted the first two yacht charter licenses in 2025 to Hasco Marine Works and Ahlam Hotels and Marinas Tourism Company. This is part of the authority’s mandate to regulate coastal tourism, improve services provided to beneficiaries, and support the tourism economy, contributing to achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

The authority is accelerating its efforts to regulate the coastal tourism sector and create an attractive environment for tourists, investors, and practitioners of coastal tourism activities. This fulfills its duties and roles, including issuing licenses and permits, setting controls, rules, and standards for tourist marinas, developing and expanding them, and encouraging and attracting investment in coastal tourism activities. The Authority grants yacht charter licenses to companies after ensuring that applicants meet all regulatory requirements for issuing the license, most notably: compliance with all Authority requirements; that chartered yachts be seaworthy and adhere to the highest local and international security, safety, and environmental standards; and compliance with all applicable regulations in the Kingdom.

The new licenses issued by the Authority contribute to achieving an effective impact in regulating coastal tourism activities, expanding the provision of diverse tourism services, attracting more investments, increasing the flow of tourists to the Kingdom, growing yachting activity, creating new job opportunities in the Red Sea sector, and providing exceptional tourism experiences for visitors.

It is worth noting that the two licenses issued by the Authority to yacht charter companies this year bring the total number of licenses issued to date to five for charter companies in the Kingdom. This is part of the Authority’s efforts to raise the quality of services provided to tourists and visitors, preserve and sustain the marine environment, and promote and develop coastal tourism in the Red Sea.
