Saudi Industrial Production Index decreases by 0.2% in February

Preliminary results indicate a 0.2% decrease in the Industrial Production Index (IPI) in February 2025 compared to the same month of the previous year

(February 2024), affected by the decline in mining and quarrying activity. On a monthly basis, the index increased by 0.7%.

Sub-index of mining and quarrying activity:

In February 2025, the sub-index of mining and quarrying activity decreased by 0.7% compared to the same month of the previous year.

Saudi Arabia decreased its oil production to 8.95 million barrels per day in February 2025 compared to 9.01 million barrels per day in February 2024.On a monthly basis, the sub-index of mining and quarrying activity increased by 0.3%.

Sub-index of manufacturing activity Compared to February of the previous year, the sub-index of manufacturing activity increased by 0.2%, supported by the increase in the manufacture of chemicals and chemical products, which increased by 3.5%, and the manufacture of food products, which increased by 6.3%.

On a monthly basis, the sub-index of manufacturing activity showed an increase of 0.9%, supported by the rise in the activity of the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products, which increased by 0.1%, and the manufacture of food products which increased by 3.7%.
