Riyadh Airlines CEO: Ready to Purchase Boeing Aircraft from Cancelled Chinese Orders

Tony Douglas, CEO of Riyadh Airlines, said they are ready to purchase all Boeing aircraft destined for Chinese airlines if they are not delivered.

He explained that the problem of delayed aircraft deliveries may not be resolved in the near future, noting that tourist traffic to and from Saudi Arabia is very strong and has not been affected by global economic conditions.

He explained that the company has employed 500 people so far and plans to increase that number to 1,000 over the next ten months.

Boeing is looking to resell dozens of aircraft potentially banned from China due to tariffs, after a third aircraft was returned to the United States in a delivery crisis that sparked renewed criticism of Beijing from US President Donald Trump.
