Japanese stocks close lower
Japan’s Nikkei stock index closed down more than 1% today, as a stronger yen weighed on export-oriented stocks.
The Nikkei index closed down 1.3% at 34,279.92, while the broader Topix index fell 1.2% to 2,528.93.
