Google shares lose $73 billion in a week

Google shares fell 1.4% on Thursday, bringing their weekly losses to 3.8%, wiping $73 billion off the company’s market value in a single week.

These losses came after a federal judge ruled that Google illegally dominates two online advertising technology markets. This ruling could allow prosecutors to seek a breakup of Google’s advertising products.

Eli Lilly shares jumped more than 14% on Thursday, posting their biggest daily gain in 20 months, after the company revealed that its new obesity treatment had successfully completed advanced trials.
