The European Union decided today to suspend the tariffs scheduled for April 15 against the United States for 90 days.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said that all options regarding tariffs remain on the table, noting that she consistently advocates for a zero-tariff agreement between the EU and the US, as she wants to achieve zero tariffs on both sides.
She added: “If the tariff negotiations with the US are not satisfactory, we will implement our measures, and preparatory work for further measures against US tariffs is ongoing.”
US President Donald Trump decided to suspend the tariffs he imposed on countries around the world, with the exception of China, on which he increased tariffs to 125%.
