Diriyah Hosts Third IMFC Deputies Meeting under Saudi Arabia’s Chairmanship

Diriyah will host the third deputies meeting for the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) International Monetary and Financial Committee (IMFC), held from April 6 to 7, 2025, under Saudi Arabia’s chairmanship.

The meeting will focus on key topics, including recent global economic developments and ways to enhance global financial stability. Participants will engage in discussions on the IMF’s work agenda for the upcoming period, in preparation for the IMFC ministerial meetings.

‏The meeting will be inaugurated by Minister of Finance Mohammed Aljadaan and IMF Managing Director Dr. Kristalina Georgieva. It will feature several high-level sessions to discuss global economic challenges, the mechanism to address them, and the IMF’s role in this regard.

The IMFC deliberates on matters concerning the growth and stability of the global economy, seeking to ensure global financial stability. Its members discuss challenges facing the global economy and recommend economic policies to address them.

The IMFC is the premier forum for providing strategic direction to the work and policies of the IMF. It has 25 members, including finance ministers and central bank governors from developed, developing, and low-income countries.
