Data released by the Capital Market Authority revealed that debt instruments, including sukuk and bonds, in the Saudi financial market reached approximately 178 billion riyals last year. Sukuk volume reached 174.4 billion riyals, and bond volume reached approximately 3.5 billion riyals.
According to the Authority’s quarterly statistical bulletin, sukuk issued by government entities amounted to 137.4 billion riyals, comprising 26 sukuks. Banks and financial institutions offered 35 private placements, worth 28 billion riyals. Non-financial companies and institutions offered one public offering worth 1 billion riyals, in addition to 15 private placements worth 8 billion riyals.
Concerning bonds, government entities offered one bond worth 56.3 million riyals, banks and financial institutions offered seven bonds worth 934 million riyals, while the value of seven bonds offered by non-financial companies and institutions amounted to 2.09 billion riyals.
