Total credit granted by banks in Saudi Arabia to economic activities hits 3 trillion riyals by the end of January

Bank credit granted by banks in Saudi Arabia according to economic activity by the end of last January rose to 3 trillion riyals, and (individual loans) recorded an amount of 1.38 trillion riyals.

According to the statistical bulletin for January 2025 issued by the Saudi Central Bank “SAMA”, (real estate activities) came in second with an amount of 343.5 billion riyals, followed by (wholesale and retail trade) with an amount of 203.8 billion riyals, then (manufacturing industries) with a value of 190.1 billion riyals, then (electricity, gas and water supplies) with 186.4 billion riyals.

According to the data, (other activities) recorded an amount of 182.2 billion riyals, (financial activities and insurance activities) ranked seventh with 137.6 billion riyals, (construction) activity ranked eighth with 125 billion riyals, (transportation and storage) ranked ninth with 51.8 billion riyals, and finally (mining and mines) with 51.4 billion riyals. It is noteworthy that bank credit granted according to economic activity rose in December 2024 to 2.95 trillion riyals, as the share of individual loans constituted 46.1% of the total credit granted according to economic activity with a value of 1.36 trillion riyals. Bank credit from banks in Saudi Arabia and granted according to economic activity also rose by the end of November 2024 to 2.93 trillion riyals, and the share of (individual loans) constituted 46% with a total value of 1.35 trillion riyals.
