Japanese stocks close higher
Japan’s Nikkei index rose at the end of volatile trading on Wednesday, as investors repurchased shares after sharp declines in the previous session, but concerns about US tariffs and their impact on the global economy continued to weigh on sentiment.
The Nikkei index closed up 0.1% at 36,819.09.
The broader Topix index rose 0.9% to 2,694.91.
