European stocks start the week steady

European stocks were steady at the start of the week, with little change compared to the previous session.

The pan-European STOXX 600 index opened 0.1% higher, following a weekly loss due to growing fears of an economic slowdown due to US tariffs.

The oil and gas sub-index rose 0.7%, and the healthcare sub-index advanced 0.6%.

Phoenix Group shares rose 6.1% after the British insurer reported better-than-expected full-year adjusted operating profit and total cash flow.
