Saudi Arabia welcomes hosting a potential summit between Trump and Putin, keeps efforts to achieve peace between Russia and Ukraine

The Kingdom praised the phone call between Donald Trump, President of the United States of America, and Vladimir Putin, President of Russia, and the announcement of the possibility of holding a summit that brings them together in Saudi Arabia.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the Kingdom welcomes hosting the summit between the two presidents, and its continued efforts to achieve lasting peace between Russia and Ukraine, which began with the outbreak of the Ukrainian crisis, as Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, expressed during his call on March 3, 2022 with both Vladimir Putin, President of Russia, and Zelensky, President of Ukraine, the Kingdom’s readiness to exert its good offices to reach a political solution to the crisis.

It added, “The Kingdom has continued these efforts over the past three years, including hosting many meetings in this regard.”
