Fahd bin Abdulrahman Al-Jalajel, Minister of Health, and Budi J. Sadikin, Indonesian Minister of Health, witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Health Holding Company and the Indonesian Ministry of Health for cooperation in the field of health care. It was signed on the Saudi side by Nasser bin Mohammed Al-Haqbani, CEO of the Health Holding Company, and on the Indonesian side by Yuli Varianti, Director General of Health Human Resources at the Ministry of Health.
During their meeting in Jakarta, they discussed aspects of health cooperation between the two countries in the health field, and enhancing medical services provided to Indonesian pilgrims and Umrah performers in a way that contributes to raising health readiness and improving the Hajj and Umrah experience; to achieve the goals of the Guests of God Service Program and the Health Transformation Program within the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 by enhancing the readiness of health facilities, and providing health services with efficiency and high quality.
The two sides exchanged best practices and experiences in the field of hospital management and primary health care, while benefiting from the Kingdom’s experience in digital health transformation, and the use of artificial intelligence in disease diagnosis and hospital management, in addition to exploring joint investment opportunities between the two countries in the pharmaceutical industries and medical equipment.
The Holding Company for Health also signed another memorandum of understanding with Nahdlatul Ulama University Surabaya, with the aim of enhancing cooperation in the field of Indonesian health cadres to support the healthcare sector in the Kingdom. The MoU was signed by Professor Nasser bin Mohammed Al-Haqbani and the President of Nahdlatul Ulama University, Professor Ahmed Yazidi, in the presence of the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Republic of Indonesia, Faisal bin Abdullah Al-Amoudi, along with a number of Undersecretaries of the Ministry and leaders in the Ministry of Health and the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties. This comes within the efforts of the Ministry of Health to consolidate international cooperation in the health field, and expand the scope of global strategic partnerships, which contributes to developing medical services, raising their efficiency, and supporting innovation in modern technologies to improve the quality of healthcare and enhance its sustainability.
