Microsoft unveils the world’s most powerful computer

Microsoft has announced the development of the world’s most powerful quantum computer, an innovation that could represent a new scientific breakthrough that enhances American superiority in the technology sector.

According to “Al Arabiya Business”, this computer has unprecedented capabilities, as it can solve complex scientific and technological problems that used to take years in a matter of minutes, which will accelerate scientific research, achieve progress in drug discovery, and enhance encryption and artificial intelligence technologies. These developments give the United States a significant advantage in the global technology race.

One of the most important innovations announced by “Microsoft” is “topological matter”, which is considered a quantum leap in the field of quantum computers.

Traditionally, matter consists of three main states: solid, liquid, and gas, but “Microsoft” has revealed this new material that has been able to reduce the percentage of computational errors that used to lead to the collapse of complex calculations in quantum computers.

The technology relies on cooling quantum chips to temperatures close to absolute zero (-240 degrees Celsius), an achievement that was doubted by the scientific community when Microsoft began working on it in the early 2000s, but the support of the company’s three CEOs – Bill Gates, Steve Ballmer and Satya Nadella – helped turn the idea into reality. This announcement comes months after Google revealed a quantum computer that was able to solve a calculation in 5 minutes that would have taken 10,000 years on traditional computers. Although some scientists doubt that this technology will be available in the market anytime soon, the race to develop quantum computing is accelerating among the major technological powers.
