Japan’s Nikkei rose on Tuesday after U.S. President Donald Trump suspended imposing hefty tariffs on Mexico and Canada, before paring some gains as the United States and China reimposed tariffs.
The Nikkei rose 1.8% as investors returned to buying stocks, after posting its worst performance in four months yesterday.
The Nikkei ended 0.7% higher at 38,798.37. The broader Topix index closed 0.7% higher at 2,738.02.
