Japan’s Nikkei ended marginally higher on Wednesday after a choppy session in which the index erased early gains on concerns over rising bets on a Bank of Japan rate hike and pressure from a stronger yen.
The Nikkei closed up just 0.09 percent at 38,831.48 after rising as much as 0.8 percent in early trade, tracking gains on Wall Street.
The index fell as much as 0.3 percent during the session.
The broader Topix index rose 0.27 percent to 2,745.41.
