Japanese stocks fell at the close of trading on Tuesday.
The Tokyo Stock Exchange reported that the Nikkei 225 index ended the session today down 1.39%, or 539.15 points, to reach 38,237.79 points, while the broader Topix index closed down 0.43%, or 11.83 points, to close at 2,724.70 points.
The yield on the Japanese 10-year bond fell 2.81%, or four basis points, to reach a yield of 1.382%, indicating increased investor appetite for it as risk aversion in financial markets.
