General Authority for Competition Signs MoU with Iraq’s Competition, Antitrust Council

The General Authority for Competition, at its headquarters in Riyadh, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Iraq’s Competition and Antitrust Council to foster fruitful cooperation between the two countries in promoting competition and preventing anti-competitive monopolistic practices.
The MoU includes provisions for information and expert exchanges to enhance the performance of both entities, particularly in competitive guidance. The agreement also facilitates knowledge sharing on investigative procedures related to competition law violations and the exchange of expertise regarding complaint handling, requests, notifications, and necessary studies and reports for analyzing various market practices.
This agreement reflects the General Authority for Competition’s commitment to boosting Arab cooperation, enhancing market integration, and encouraging fair competition, a fundamental pillar of economic and social development and the foundation for strong and sustainable economies.
