The Aviation Industry Forum held today, Monday, witnessed the launch of the first industrial city dedicated to manufacturing and maintaining aircraft in Jeddah.
The Middle East Aircraft Engines Company obtained the first license for aircraft maintenance, and the Saudi Airlines for Engineering and Aviation Industries obtained the second license.
7 agreements were signed in Jeddah on the sidelines of the forum, including the localization and transfer of technology for manufacturing taxi, helicopter, and light sports aircraft, and supporting supply chains.
During the events of the Aviation Industry Forum, the Second Airports Cluster Company signed a joint memorandum of understanding with the National Center for Industrial Development, as this strategic partnership is a qualitative leap in operating airports through the integration of government efforts and supporting and localizing the aircraft components industry in the Kingdom, in order to achieve the national aviation strategy and enhance the national industrial strategy.
As part of the forum’s events, the National Center for Industrial Development, Life Shield Company, and Autogyro Company signed a tripartite memorandum of understanding with the aim of localizing and transferring technology for manufacturing taxi and helicopter aircraft, which contributes to enhancing sustainable industrial development and developing the aviation system in the Kingdom.
