Tesla launched a new version of its best-selling Model Y, at a higher price in the US, Canada, and Europe, on Thursday, weeks after it first went on sale in China.
According to the electric car company’s website, the new version features a long range on a single charge and operates with an all-wheel drive system. It will be priced at $59,990 in the US, an increase of 25% compared to the previous price of $47,990.
The new car comes with “supervised full self-driving” technology, which was previously an optional feature at an additional cost of $8,000. Tesla is scheduled to begin deliveries of the new car next March.
The company explained that the updated version features a new exterior design, interior improvements, in addition to a slight increase in the range of driving on a single charge to 515 kilometers.
