Gold prices retreat after approaching a 3-month high

Gold prices retreated today, after approaching a three-month high in the previous session.

Spot gold fell 0.1% to $2,751.99 per ounce by 0552 GMT, after reaching $2,763.43 yesterday, its highest level since October 31 when it reached an unprecedented level of $2,790.15. U.S. gold futures fell 0.4% to $2,760.20.

In other precious metals, spot silver fell 0.5% to $30.63 per ounce, platinum fell 0.2% to $944, and palladium fell 0.7% to $970.55.
