The German trade balance recorded a surplus of 19.7 billion euros in November, compared to 13.4 billion euros in the previous month.
The Federal Statistical Office in Wiesbaden stated today that the value of German exports in November, after taking into account seasonal factors, amounted to 127.3 billion euros, an increase of 2.1% on a monthly basis.
In contrast, exports declined by 3.5% on an annual basis, and imports also decreased by 3.3% to 107.6 billion euros.
German exports to the United States witnessed a strong increase of 14.5%, while German exports to the European Union declined by 1.7% and China by 4.2%.
Industrial production also rose in November after declining for two consecutive months, according to what the Federal Statistical Office announced that production in manufacturing companies rose by 1.5% on a monthly basis, after production contracted in the previous months of October and September.
The office recorded a particularly strong increase in energy production, up 5.4 percent month-on-month.
Construction production also rose 2.1 percent month-on-month in November.
The statistics office also noted particularly strong growth in the production of aircraft, ships, trains and military vehicles, which rose 11.4 percent in total.
