First spare aircraft joins Riyadh Airlines fleet of Boeing 787-9

Riyadh Airlines, a subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund and the new air carrier of the Kingdom, is preparing to receive the first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft at King Khalid International Airport in the capital, Riyadh, which was leased to be the spare aircraft in its air fleet in addition to using it for training purposes. The aircraft will carry the company’s identity with the exterior design of the aircraft body of the first class in the distinctive pearl color.

It is worth noting that this aircraft is completely independent of the basic order of Boeing 787-9 aircraft, which number 72 aircraft, as this aircraft will be used during the coming months for training and trial operation purposes in addition to completing the procedures for the Air Transport License (AOC) through the General Authority of Civil Aviation; to enable the start of commercial flight operations later in 2025.
