Communications and IT Minister Receives Amazon Chiefs to Expand Cloud Computing, AI Horizons in Saudi Arabia

Minister of Communications and Information Technology Eng. Abdullah Alswaha received at the ministry’s Riyadh headquarters Amazon chief executive Andy Jassy and Amazon Web Services (AWS) chief executive Matt Garman to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two sides.

During the meeting, they discussed enhancing the development of cloud infrastructure and leveraging artificial-intelligence (AI) capabilities to support digital innovation, contributing to the growth of the digital economy and achieving the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

AWS announced in February 2024 an investment of $5.3 billion to build high-level cloud regions to offer its services to the region through Saudi Arabia.
