The number of existing commercial records for cloud computing services activities increased during the fourth quarter of 2024 in the Kingdom by 70% to 3005 records compared to 1759 records in the same period in 2023.
According to the Business Sector Bulletin for the fourth quarter of 2024 issued by the Ministry of Commerce, Riyadh topped the regions with the highest number of cloud computing services records with 1883 records, followed by Mecca with 575 records, then the Eastern Province with 329 records, Medina with 72 records, and finally Asir with 37 records.
In the same context, the bulletin reported that existing records for application development in the fourth quarter of 2024 witnessed a 36% increase, rising from 11,605 during the fourth quarter of 2023 to 15,775 during the same period in 2024.
Riyadh topped the regions with the highest number of existing records for application development with 9,647 records, followed by Makkah with 3,191 records, the Eastern Province with 1,590 records, Madinah with 467 records, and Asir with 249 records.
At the level of commercial records, the bulletin indicated an increase in the total records issued in the Kingdom during the fourth quarter of 2024, compared to the same quarter of the year before last by 67%, as more than 160,000 commercial records were issued during the past three months, bringing the total number of commercial records to more than 1.6 million commercial records in all regions of the Kingdom.
Promising sectors represent one of the opportunities launched by Vision 2030 for the local and foreign business sector. Among the most prominent vital sectors that contribute directly to the gross domestic product are: cloud computing, technology, financial services, tourism trips, entertainment events, talent development, and conference organization, which provides the business sector with opportunities to develop businesses and expand partnerships.
