US President-elect Donald Trump announced the nomination of Stephen Meiran, the first economic policy adviser at the Treasury Department during his first term, to chair the Council of Economic Advisers on his economic team.

Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social, “I am pleased to announce that I will nominate Stephen Meiran to chair my Council of Economic Advisers. Steve will work with the rest of my economic team to achieve a great economic transformation that lifts up all Americans.

Steve was a senior economic policy adviser at the Treasury Department during my first term, and he holds a doctorate in economics from Harvard University. Congratulations Steve!”

He holds a doctorate in economics from Harvard University, where he was a student of the famous economist Marty Feldstein, and earned a bachelor’s degree from Boston University, where he studied economics, philosophy, and mathematics.

In the field of investment, he works as a senior strategist at Hudson Bay Capital, a global investment firm.
