The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources announced on Sunday the upgrade of customs items registered in industrial licenses from the 10-digit Harmonized System (HS) code to a 12-digit format.
This initiative aims to standardize the customs coding system, improve data connectivity, and ensure consistency with relevant entities. The upgrade represents a significant advancement in harmonizing technical systems at the national level, enhancing the accuracy of data related to both locally manufactured products and imports while strengthening data coherence within supply chains.
The ministry stated that it has reviewed more than 13,000 items, successfully transitioning the HS codes registered in industrial licenses from 10 digits to 12 digits.
Industrial establishments are encouraged to review the proposed updates to their customs items registered in their industrial licenses before the deadline of January 31, 2025. Establishments can access the Senaee platform and select the HS code upgrade option from their factory homepage. The ministry will implement these updates promptly following the specified deadline.
