Russia’s Central Bank keeps key interest rate unchanged at 21%

The Central Bank of Russia decided, at its board meeting today, Friday, to keep the key interest rate unchanged at its current level of 21% annually.

The decision of the Central Bank of Russia came contrary to the estimates of experts, who expected an increase from 21% to 22% or 23%.

The Central Bank of Russia had decided at the end of last October to raise the interest rate from 19% to 21% annually, as part of the Russian regulator’s fight against inflation.
