Russian gas exports to European countries have increased by 18-20% this year compared to last year, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said on Wednesday.
According to Novak, Russian gas supplies, including pipeline gas and liquefied natural gas, amounted to more than 50 billion cubic meters in the period from January to November, Interfax news agency reported.
“Despite all the statements and sanctions pressure, gas remains an environmentally friendly and highly demanded product, as Russian gas is the most cost-effective, both logistically and price-wise,” Novak added.
