The Pakistan Rice Exporters Association announced its hope to increase its share of rice exports to the Saudi market by 25% over the next two years, by working on developing new strategies for its companies to enter the Kingdom; and by raising quality standards, maintaining competitive prices, and building strong partnerships with Saudi traders and importers.

This came during a meeting of a delegation from the Pakistan Rice Exporters Association, today, with the Secretary-General of the Federation of Saudi Chambers, Walid bin Hamad Al-Arainan, and the Chairman of the Saudi-Pakistani Business Council, Eng. Fahd Al-Bash.

The Chairman of the Pakistan Rice Exporters Association, Faisal Jahangir, said: Pakistan exports 114,000 tons of rice to the Kingdom, worth $130 million, and that its market share represents 70%, stressing that Pakistani rice meets Saudi and international quality standards.

It is worth noting that the meeting comes within the context of activating the role of the private sector in supporting the Kingdom’s directions to enhance its food security by ensuring food supply chains and diversifying international suppliers.
