FIPCO Obtained Bronze Winner in SUSTAINABILITY DESIGN AWARD by UNIDO and WPO

Filling & Packing Materials MFG. Co. (FIPCO) announced on Sunday that it has obtained the “Bronze Winner” of SUSTAINABILITY DESIGN AWARD related to the innovative and sustainable practices from the United Nation Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) and World Packaging Organisation (WPO).

The Company stated that this was announced during the ceremony held within the activities of the Food Africa and Pack Process Middle East Exhibition from 3-5 Dec. 2024 in Cairo, Egypt, in which FIPCO participates as a national company within the Saudi Export Development Authority’s pavilion.

The Sustainability Design Award recognises innovative products that promote sustainability practices and environmental responsibility, and confirms that the aforementioned products have met most of the essential criteria of the life cycle of sustainability, including protecting human health, reducing toxic pollution and waste, conserving resources, mitigating climate change, and effective product performance.

Among these criteria and standards that FIBCO focused on innovating and developing compatible products are the following:

– Using sustainable, recyclable or biodegradable materials.

– Energy efficiency by adopting designs that reduce energy consumption or use renewable energy sources, including FIBCO Solar Energy Project.

– Reducing waste by developing strategies that reduce waste during production and throughout the product life cycle, and recycling that waste effectively.

– Innovating and developing creative solutions that address environmental challenges in new ways.

– Analysing the environmental impact throughout the product life cycle, from extracting raw materials to disposal.

– Aesthetic value and balance between sustainability and attractive design.

FIBCO confirmed that it is always keen to include sustainability elements in all its operational processes, starting with its investments in alternative energy, supporting and developing its human capital, qualifying national cadres, empowering women, focusing on research and development initiatives, and aligning with the national industrial strategy to adopt the initiative of process automation and digital transformation, which clearly contributed to qualifying FIBCO products to receive this award after passing all criteria and providing relevant evidence and proof.

According to the statement published on “Tadawul”, FIBCO will double its efforts to invest in research and development initiatives, adopt innovation practices and create added value, so that such awards and honours are entitlements that FIBCO always seeks to obtain.
