European shares rose on Thursday, as investors braced for a rate cut by the European Central Bank and awaited hints on monetary policy moves next year as the euro zone economy struggles to cope with slowing growth and rising political risks.
The pan-European STOXX 600 index was up 0.1% by 0814 GMT, rising for a 10th session in 11 days.
