The euro fell on Thursday after the widely expected collapse of the French government raised concerns about the euro zone’s second-largest economy, while bitcoin topped $100,000 for the first time.

The euro was at $1.052175, trading in a narrow range during Asian trading hours, but was close to a two-year low of $1.03315 touched in late November as traders braced for developments in France.

The yen rose slightly to 150.345 against the dollar as investors awaited the chances of the Bank of Japan raising interest rates later this month. Markets are pricing in a 60% chance of a December rate hike.
