China’s consumer prices fell 0.6% in November from the previous month, confounding analysts’ expectations of a 0.4% decline after a 0.3% decline in October.
On a year-on-year basis, the seasonally adjusted consumer price index rose 0.2% in November, with analysts expecting a 0.5% rise after a 0.3% rise in the previous month.
The statistics bureau also said that producer (wholesale) prices in China fell 2.5% year-on-year last month, compared to analysts’ expectations of a 2.8% decline after a 2.9% decline in the previous month.
