China recorded the largest grain production in its history during the current year, and data from the National Bureau of Statistics of China revealed that Chinese farmers harvested 652.29 million tons of grain this year, achieving a record level for the fourth consecutive year, and this is an increase of 1.7% from the level of 2023.
According to the data, the harvest of major agricultural crops, which include legumes and root crops in addition to grains, amounted to 706.5 million tons, an increase of 1.6% year-on-year, according to “Sky News”.
Cultivated areas in China increased, as 100.4 million hectares (about 248 million acres) were planted with grains this year, which is an increase of 0.5% year-on-year.
119.3 million hectares were also planted with other major crops, which is an increase of 0.3% from the previous year.
China’s grain production rose 1.2%, while other major crops rose 1.3%.
