Saudi General Transport Authority confirms ban on foreign trucks violating the rules and regulations for transporting between cities of the Kingdom

The General Transport Authority announced that it has seized, in cooperation with the relevant authorities, a number of foreign trucks violating the regulations and legislation, and that they were transporting goods between the cities of the Kingdom, stressing its keenness to organize the sector, raise the level of compliance with the regulations, ensure fair competition, and contribute to raising the level of safety and security for transport services, as well as preserving public resources and road infrastructure.

The Authority stressed that the approved mechanism for controlling transport operations by foreign trucks that the Authority is working on, in cooperation with several government agencies, prevents traders, factories, importers, institutions and companies from contracting with non-Saudi transport vehicles for transport between the cities of the Kingdom, and their work is limited to transporting goods from outside the Kingdom to a specific arrival city or transporting goods on their way back to the country from which they came from the same arrival city or cities located on the return route, and this requires obtaining a permit from the General Transport Authority.

The Authority confirmed the continuation of its inspection campaigns in various regions of the Kingdom in cooperation with the relevant authorities. The Authority also called on all citizens and residents to report any violations related to the operation of foreign trucks through its official channels on social media or by direct communication with the unified number 19929.
