OpenAI plans to compete with Google with a smart browser

The Information newspaper revealed that OpenAI, the developer of the ChatGPT application, has begun thinking about developing a web browser that may integrate with its chat robot.

According to the newspaper, OpenAI has discussed the search engine with application and website developers such as Conde Nast, Redfin, Eventbrite, and Priceline.

This move puts the company headed by Sam Altman in competition with Google, which has the lion’s share of the browser and internet search market, according to Reuters.

OpenAI has already entered the search market with the SearchGPT browser.

Since the launch of the ChatGPT application in late 2022, Alphabet, the parent company of Google, has been trying to prove its presence in the field of artificial intelligence by launching its own chat robot (Gemini), which is based on generative artificial intelligence last year.

Google’s dominance of the search engine market is in jeopardy after the Justice Department said the company must sell its Chrome browser to end its monopoly on online search.
