Japanese stocks close higher
Japanese stocks closed higher on Thursday, snapping two straight sessions of losses that had made shares relatively cheap.
The Nikkei index rose 0.56 percent to close at 38,349.06, while the broader Topix index advanced 0.82 percent to 2,687.28.
