Gold prices fell to their lowest level in nearly three weeks on Wednesday as the dollar held firm, trading rose on bets on a Donald Trump win and investors awaited the Federal Reserve’s next policy meeting.
Spot gold fell 0.8% to $2,721.21 an ounce, having hit a record high of $2,790.15 on Thursday.
U.S. gold futures fell 0.7% to $2,730.20.
