The public debt of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia rose by the end of last September to 1,157.636 billion riyals, an increase of about 107.354 billion riyals from its levels in last December, which were 1,050.282 billion riyals.
According to the budget statement, 117.245 billion riyals were borrowed as internal debt, while 67.811 billion riyals were borrowed as external debt, bringing the total amount borrowed during the first 9 months of 2024 to about 185.06 billion riyals.
In contrast, 72.932 billion riyals were paid from the original domestic debt and 4.77 billion riyals from the original external debt, bringing the total paid during the first 9 months of 2024 to about 77.7 billion riyals, and the domestic debt rose to 688.718 billion riyals, after it was 644.405 billion riyals, while the external debt increased to 468.918 billion riyals, compared to 405.877 billion at the beginning of the period. The Saudi Ministry of Finance announced the budget for the third quarter of this year 2024 for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where revenues amounted to 309.208 billion riyals, expenditures amounted to 339.443 billion riyals, and the deficit amounted to 30.235 billion riyals. In contrast, the Saudi budget revenues amounted to 956.233 billion riyals at the end of the first 9 months of this year, expenditures amounted to 1014.196 billion riyals, and the deficit amounted to about 58 billion riyals.
