Saudi Minister of Finance: Systematic planning and continuous reforms are the basis for sustainable economic growth

Mohammed Abdullah Al-Jadaan, Minister of Finance, stressed that systematic planning and continuous reforms are the basis for sustainable economic growth.

He said during his participation today, Wednesday, on the sidelines of the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank for the year 2024, in the ministerial roundtable meeting for the “Process (21) to replenish the resources of the International Development Association” entitled “Achieving Results in Times of Crisis” that the Kingdom’s continuous contributions to the replenishment operations of the International Development Association are based on the institution’s efforts to make a major institutional difference as the largest concessional financing entity in the world.

Al-Jadaan continued: “We urge the International Development Association to focus on the aspect of building local capacities in member states.”

He added that there is room to enhance economic growth and increase job opportunities for beneficiary countries by targeting promising and strategic sectors by the institution.

The Minister of Finance indicated that providing job opportunities and connecting peoples is essential not only to reduce poverty but also to provide decent livelihoods for communities and achieve economic growth.
