SAR signs two contracts and MoU at the Global Logistics Forum

Saudi Arabia Railways Company (SAR) concluded its participation in the Global Logistics Forum within the Transport and Logistics System Pavilion, where it reviewed its advanced services in the logistics sector, providing an overview of the great progress achieved by the railway networks in the Kingdom, and its use of one of the longest freight trains and one of the fastest electric trains in the world, in addition to operating the longest railway lines in the world that use the European traffic management system “ETCS-L2”.

SAR signed a number of contracts and memoranda of understanding, including two contracts with Bahri Logistics Services Company; the first aims to increase the quantities of containers transported on the eastern line, while the second came to operate and develop two logistics stations in each of Al-Kharj and Haradh, in addition to signing three memoranda of understanding, the first with the Ministry of Transport and Logistics Services with the aim of developing national capabilities through the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Program for Foreign Scholarships “Promising Path”, the second with DHL and the last with Agility Global.

The signing of these contracts and memoranda of understanding comes within the efforts of SAR to provide safe and sustainable transportation solutions, thus contributing to achieving the goals of the National Strategy for Transport and Logistics Services and the aspirations of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, to make the Kingdom a global logistics center in light of its important role in linking regional and international transportation operations.
