Khaled Al-Falih, Minister of Investment, revealed 4 airports that will be privatized in the future, including Abha Airport, which attracted 100 companies that will work on its rehabilitation. He indicated that the Kingdom has 30 ports that constitute 80% of transportation services.
Al-Falih explained on the sidelines of the World Logistics Forum that the Kingdom is undergoing the deepest transformation in its history, as the government exits from practicing business in the logistics sector and empowers the private sector, adding, “In the past, we used to see 25% of ports managed by the government, while now the ports managed by the government constitute 0%, noting that King Abdullah Port, which was built with zero government capital.
Al-Falih stressed the importance of investment opportunities in the Saudi logistics sector for foreign investors, expecting the acceleration of the establishment of regional logistics centers, in addition to the importance of digitization and entrepreneurship, as the pioneering space in the Kingdom is taking off at rocket speed in all sectors, including the logistics sector.
