A large number of iPhone 16 series users running iOS 18 complained of excessive battery drain, which raised widespread concern.
Complaints spread on forums and social media sites from users suffering from battery drain, pointing to iOS 18 as the main reason.
These complaints began since the release of the beta version of the system, but with the availability of the final stable version and the launch of the new generation of iPhone phones, the discussion about this problem has returned to the forefront.
According to the “Arab Technology Portal”, many owners of the new iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro phones reported battery drain, and a number of users of older versions reported the same problem, indicating that the reason may lie in iOS 18.
Reports show that the problem appears especially when the phone is in sleep mode, and some reports indicate that phones running iOS 18 consume a lot of energy when not in use, which may indicate an error in some processes that run in the background unnecessarily.
Some users have reported that their battery could lose 10-15% of its charge overnight while they were sleeping.
Affected users have tried multiple attempts to resolve the battery drain issue, including disabling features like ProMotion (which raises the screen refresh rate to 120Hz) and Always-On Display, and even performing a factory reset. However, in most cases, these solutions did not yield effective results.
Keeping your phone’s battery last all day is one of the biggest challenges users face, and unexplained battery drain is one of the most annoying issues you can face.
The iOS 18.1 update is expected to arrive later this month, and the update will bring new Apple Intelligence features to eligible devices, but it is also likely to offer noticeable improvements to battery performance after its launch.
